Better than new!
Already have a piece you love and want to keep but it’s seen better days? We can help with that!
Our favorite thing to do is a good old fashioned refurb. We call this the “perfect from 3 feet” fix! It provides most of the benefits that a full refinish does but keeps a lot of the lovely vintage charm and is a cheaper option for you.
The refurbishment process is 4 steps:
Step 1 - Two rounds of deep cleaning and hydrating the wood. This removes all the caked on old dust from the cracks and crevices, most scuff marks, and brings the luster back to dry, dull wood.
Step 2 - Minor repairs. This would include fixing wobbly legs, drawers that don’t slide well, replacing small sections of veneer, etc.
Step 3 - Filling scratches. This process is just what it sounds like, we use special stain-matching products to cover (ie. hide) all of those ugly scratches.
Step 4 - Finish coat. This depends on the specific piece and its intended use but it will leave your piece protected and looking great!

While we prefer to refurbish, we also know not everyone has the same tastes and we can certainly do a full refinish for you. This process includes removing all of the old finish, sanding the entire piece until it’s buttery smooth, applying new stain, and finishing with an appropriate finish coating.
Please note, we do not paint vintage furniture. We understand it’s trendy and popular (and much easier than refinishing) but we believe a properly stained piece of furniture is much more timeless and versatile than anything painted.
